Biography
Andson Clério is a Brazilian contemporary sculptor whose practice explores the structural principles of living systems through sculpture. Working mainly with iron wire, copper, brass, bronze, silver and gold, his work investigates how natural systems organize, expand and transform over time.
Instead of representing nature, Clério translates its underlying logic into sculptural structures that exist between drawing, sculpture and biological architecture.
His sculptures propose nature not as subject matter, but as a model for understanding growth, balance and transformation.
Statment
My work investigates the structural principles that organize living systems.
Through the observation of fractal patterns, branching structures, and organic growth systems, I explore how complexity emerges from repetition, connection, and transformation.
Working primarily with iron, copper, brass, bronze, silver, and gold wire, I construct sculptures that translate these natural processes into physical structures. Rather than representing nature, my work seeks to reveal the relationships that sustain it.
Trees, roots, and branching forms appear not as symbolic images, but as manifestations of universal organizational systems. Every sculpture develops through continuous growth, where each individual wire contributes to a larger interconnected structure.
By transforming industrial materials into organic forms, I investigate the dialogue between natural logic and material transformation, creating sculptures shaped by rhythm, balance, time, and matter.
Process
Each sculpture is constructed entirely by hand through the gradual accumulation of metal wire.
Without casting or industrial fabrication, every structure develops through repetition and continuous growth, allowing the material itself to define the rhythm of the work.
The process reflects the same organizational principles observed in nature: simple elements generating increasingly complex systems.
